Final Mailer Before Election

This is a 6”x9” direct mail piece. It was printed on heavier paper and coated for an element of protection from the outdoor elements.

This was the final piece sent to those who had voted in three of the last four elections (super voters) AND had a hunting, fishing, or trapping license.

Direct Mail Project Goals
  • Get the receiver’s attention for 1-3 seconds
  • Entice the reader to read further
  • Mailable without an outer envelope

Wes Keller was a candidate for Alaska State House Representative. When candidates have an opponent, as you well know, the natural fallout requires the constituents to become bathed in political direct mail pieces during certain times of the year. This is one of those pieces.

The goal of any of these mailer pieces is to get the receiver’s attention long enough to be remembered at the polls. The target audience of this mailer were super voters – meaning he or she had voted in three of the last four elections – and had a hunting, fishing, or trapping license. The mailer has lots of white on the one side because this was mailed as-is. This was based on the post office regulations in order to not interfere with the mailing process. There wasn’t an envelope, so the constituent’s name, address, and the postage were printed directly onto the front.
